Intern with us

Jewish Eco Seminars seeks qualified volunteers/ interns to work closely with the Executive Director and the Project Manager in implementing the organization’s vision.

He/she will be involved in a diverse range of tasks and responsibilities, which may include sales and marketing to potential clients; research on Jewish sources, environmental studies, and donor and foundation information; website development and updating; and seminar design, planning, and assessment. Volunteers/ Interns will also join Jewish Eco Seminars staff on outdoor seminars.

Our staff aims to provide its interns with a pleasant, professional work environment. The duration of the internship often indicates the depth of interns’ engagement; that is, the longer the intern is with the organization, the more responsibility he or she will be able to take on.

Interns are usually involved in work that relates to one or more of four general areas:

  • Business Development: Cold calling; Research for partners & customers
  • Online Marketing: Social media through Facebook, and other platforms; Blog writing; Content research
  • Project Management: Logistics for meetings and events; Outreach and recruitment for attendance; Communications; Pre-event preparation and planning and post-event follow-up
  • Fundraising: Foundation and individual donor research; outreach; tracking and database management; support with writing grants and grant reports.

Help us get better and dip into the world of a non-profit organization, and contribute in a meaningful way to our success.

What our volunteers say about their time with us:

“Interning for the Jewish Eco Seminars last summer was so much more than I had hoped! I was able to assist in guiding seminars and I was even able to lead one on my own! While I was not on the trails, I spent time fundraising and outreach, among other tasks, which definitely provided with me key experiences that I will be able to use in my further endeavors.”

“Words truly cannot describe how lovely this experience was. Working with you and everyone else was a truly enlightening experience, teaching me so much more than I ever could have expected. The passion and love that each member of the team brought forth was truly inspiring, and in fact gives me hope that the work we are doing is making a difference in this world. In fact, I think it is safe to say that we are doing holy work. I look forward to being involved with future happenings of the organization, whether that be as an Ambassador on my college campus, continuing to make phone calls during my spare time, or simply sharing a post on Facebook.”
